A cleanup day at the Winamac Town Park will be Saturday, April 2.
Winamac Town Manager Brad Zellers said residents can go to the park that day beginning at 9 a.m. ET and help get the park ready for the busy spring season. Those willing to help are encouraged to bring rakes, shovels, and/or wheelbarrows to clear the park of excess leaves, sticks, and trash that may have made its way onto park grounds. A lot of activities are planned in the park this spring and summer so Park Board officials are looking to get a jump start on beautification efforts.
Zellers noted that the recent rain and snowmelt caused the river to rise which led to a small amount of flooding in the park. He said no real damage was experienced, but the cleanup day will allow people to address any issues that may have surfaced.
