Oregon-Davis School Superintendent Bill Bennett presented changes to the 2022-2023 school calendar to the school board Monday night following a decision concerning eLearning Days.
“Starting next year schools are only going to be allowed to have three eLearning Days that are not asynchronous,” explained Bennett. “When it’s asynchronous teacher and kid are following along at home and at school. When he have eLearning Days we don’t do it that way.”
Bennett said the state is limiting eLearning Days to three for the school year.
The school calendar the board previously approved had one eLearning Day on September 16 and another on October 12 which could be used for Professional Development Days, but Bennett recommended returning those two days to regular instruction and keep the three permitted eLearning Days available in case school needs to close for inclement weather.
Bennett added that four make-up days will remain in the schedule.
The board approved the change as recommended with a unanimous vote.
