West Central School Board Holds Discussion on School Calendar

The West Central School Board held a discussion last week concerning the 2022-2023 school calendar.

Superintendent Dan Zylstra said some changes are proposed.

“We are looking at using three eLearning days, which the State will allow us to use three as we’re doing now, and then using the built-in days rather than defaulting to eLearning. None of those changes are set yet,” stated Zystra.

He said the corporation is awaiting a decision by the State regarding West Central’s HEA 1003 waiver application so the school board can schedule early release days for professional development. Until that information is relayed to the school, the school calendar remains as previously approved.
