The North Judson Town Council members will soon be looking into the redistricting process.
Clerk-Treasurer Andrew Rowe said Town Attorney Justin Schramm discussed the process with the council., It is a result of the 2020 census and affects the three Wards in the Municipal Election.
“We need our districts to be as equal as possible, down to population size,” said Rowe. “Discussion was had by the council on making every position At-Large and Justin [Schramm, Town Attorney] will be exploring some of those routes if the council decided to go to all At-Large. We know Winamac did that some years back. There are probably benefits to both. That’ll be a topic that the council will be tackling over the next few meetings.”
The council has until the end of the year to file a resolution or ordinance concerning a decision on redistricting.
