The Knox Community School Board opened a public hearing last week to take comments on the proposed 2023 budget.

The board also presented the advertised Bus Replacement Plan and the Capital Projects Plan. Two buses are anticipated to be replaced in 2023.
Some of the projects included in the Capital Projects Plan over the next three years include server upgrades, elevator oil replacement, maintenance on the High School and Elementary School gym floors, air handler replacement over the football locker rooms, carpet replacement in a portion of the Elementary School and Middle School, tuckpointing and sealing work on the dormers at the Middle School, repainting and sealing the parking lots, and replacing a section of roofing at the Middle School. The items listed are estimated at $10,000 or more to complete.
There were no public comments given during the hearing. The school board anticipates adopting the budget during the October 17 meeting.
