The Pulaski County Election Board agreed to have an audit conducted following the November 8 General Election.
Clerk JoLynn Behny explained that she went to cyber security training put on by the Association of Indiana Counties and one of the breakout sessions included one with a representative from the Voting System Technical Oversight Program, or VSTOP, who explained the audit process.
She said it would be like an audit with the State Board of Accounts, but post-election auditors will review the election processes conducted by Pulaski County and note what needs to be improved.
The post-election audit would be conducted in 2023. It is a municipal cycle election year so there would be no conflicts with the county.
The Pulaski County Election Board adopted a resolution that authorizes the audit, and will be communicated with the Secretary of State’s Office to coordinate the process with VSTOP.
