Contestants Can Sign up for Starke Tank Countywide Business Pitch Competition

The time is now to participate in the annual Starke Tank Countywide Business Pitch Competition!

The event facilitated by the Starke County Economic Development Foundation is set for Sunday, August 20 at 2 p.m. at the Knox Community High School.  Business owners compete for funds to assist them in a business plan.

Contestants must operate a business in Starke County or be willing to establish one with the county limits if chosen as the winner. Small businesses that have been open for three years or less, new businesses that are not yet operational, and established businesses that have changed ownership within the past three years are all eligible.  Additionally, businesses in operation for more than three years that are developing growth through a new product, service line, expansion, or implementation of a new strategic plan can apply. The company’s growth plan must be clear to be eligible.

Local businesses, utilities, corporations, banks, realtors, and governmental entities donate toward the prize money and provide door prizes, which are given away to audience members during the event.

There is no cost to enter. Contestants will receive free coaching from an Indiana Small Business Development Center advisor and will be required to participate in a dress rehearsal.
