Big Weekend in Knox Planned at Wythogan Park

The City of Knox will have a lot of entertainment going on this weekend for the public to enjoy.

Tomorrow night the beer garden will open at 5 p.m. CT for those in attendance as the Knox Alumni Reunion will be going on as well. The Point’n Fingers Band will play live on the Wythogan Park Performance Stage at 7 p.m. CT. Classic to current rock and country rock is expected to be heard while the festivities take place.

Family Fun Day will be on Saturday with the Fourth of July parade down Main Street leading the way to start activities at the park. The parade is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. CT. The gates open at Wythogan Park at 2 p.m. Food vendors and the beer garden will be available with Jam Karaoke, face paintings, kids activities and registration for a cornhole tournament with the event at 3 p.m. Registration for the Yellow River duck race starts at 2 p.m. with the race at 4:30 p.m. and the Sandra Lee Studio of Dance will present “Selections from Soundtracks Recital” at 3 p.m.

Registration for the burnout contest is at 4 p.m. with the contest starting at 5 p.m. Kalita, the master of magic, will have a show at 5:00 p.m. Pro Wrestling King starts at 6 p.m. with Lucas Porter performing live on the main stage, followed by Cody Ikerd and the Sidewinders at 7 p.m. The fireworks will take place around 9:30 p.m. CT.

Parking at Wythogan Park on Saturday will be $10 per vehicle. A tram service will be available throughout the day at various locations for visitors who park around the courthouse and surrounding lots.

Knox Mayor Dennis Estok reminds those in attendance to bring blankets and chairs for seating. Concessions will be available for purchase as well. You must be 21 to enter the Beer Garden. For more information, you are invited to contact the City of Knox Mayor’s office at 574-772-4553.
