Knox Director of Parks and Recreation Karl Swihart announced his last day is today during the Board of Public Works meeting Wednesday.
Swihart had been hired for the full-time position in October of 2021. He thanked the department heads and individuals in the main office. He added the city has a great group of individuals that he appreciated working with.
Knox Mayor Dennis Estok told WKVI News the interview process has begun to fill the position. He stated the board hopes to have someone in place by their next meeting. Mayor Estok went on to say the individual hired will continue the day-to-day duties of the Director of Parks and Recreation but in time that title will change. He stated beginning next year, the board will rearrange the position to strictly be a recreational director.
