Pulaski County EMS Director Brandon DeLorenzo asked the Pulaski County Commissioners last week to purchase radios.
He asked to replace one portable radio and one mobile radio for the new ambulance as the current Motorola models no longer have parts for them. DeLorenzo said the total cost is outside the spending limit if the lower quote is accepted at a cost of $12,132.88. The commissioners unanimously approved the quote.
DeLorenzo also said there one part needed for an ambulance that was in an accident with a deer. Otherwise, the fleet is in good shape.
Additionally, in 2020, DeLorenzo brought a request to the commissioners to purchase a vault to hold narcotics at the EMS station, but the pandemic resulted in an availability issue. At the time, the cost was around $2,800, but DeLorenzo was not sure if the commissioners formally approved the quote. He told the commissioners that he will provide an updated quote in an upcoming meeting for formal approval.
