Oregon-Davis School Board Holds Public Hearing on Proposed 2024 Budget, Capital Projects Plan, Bus Replacement Plan

The Oregon-Davis School Board members opened a public hearing Monday night on the proposed 2024 budget, Capital Projects Plan and Bus Replacement Plan.

According to the Notice to Taxpayers listing on the Indiana Gateway website, the advertised Referendum Fund is about $1.2 million, the Rainy Day Fund at $800,000, the Debt Service Fund at about $1 million, the Education Fund at about $4.3 million, the Operations Fund at about $3.4 million, and the Post Retirement/Severance Fund at $180,000.

All funds in the budget total $11,060,971.

The three-year Capital Projects Plan shows any capital expenditures over $10,000 which includes facility updates, equipment purchases, and infrastructure needs. 

The five-year Bus Replacement Plan shows one new bus in 2024, no new buses in 2025, four buses in 2026, and two in 2027.

Superintendent Bill Bennett said there were no public comments given on the budget.

The board plans to adopt the budget during the October 18 meeting.
