The Knox Community School Board opened a hearing last week to take comments on the proposed bond project.
Superintendent Greg Mikulich said the board plans to take out a $3.1 million bond.
“That is to redo the chillers at the Middle School, and also to redo the siding on the north and south sides of the High School which is from the 1970s,” said Mikulich. “We had a presentation from Baker Tilly on the bond based upon the financial impact on the District which will not change the tax rate for the community.”
Following the hearing, the board members adopted the Project Resolution, Additional Appropriation Resolution, and the Final Bond Resolution.
The project is anticipated to begin in 2024.
In other news, the board’s counsel, Bill Kaminski, was recognized for being rated as one of the best lawyers in the country.
