North Judson-San Pierre School Board Ratifies Teacher Contract

The North Judson-San Pierre School Board took action to ratify the two-year Teacher Contract between the board and the North Judson-San Pierre Classroom Teachers Association.

Superintendent Kelly Shepherd said hard work went into this robust Teacher Contract.

“Year one of the two-year contract – all teachers will see a $4,200 pay increase and then in year two an additional $2,200 pay increase,” explained Shepherd. “Our newer teachers with less experience they’re looking at an approximate percentage increase of about 14 percent over the two years.  Our more veteran teachers are closer to 10 percent over the two years.  This ranks as one of the nicest packages a school board has ever been able to do for the North Judson-San Pierre teachers and I’m just really happy about what we were able to get done on their behalf.”

The pay range for teachers will be from $43,500 to $73,500.

Shepherd added that there was an increase in retirement incentives with a buyout of accumulated sick days, and an increase in an attendance incentive stipend from $250 to $1,000 if less than three days are missed.

The board and the Teachers Association have now both ratified the agreement.
