Officials investigated a bomb threat that was received at the Culver Middle/High School Tuesday, January 9 at 10:51 a.m. ET via a phone to another county.
School officials say administrators took action to ensure student safety and local authorities were contacted and arrived at the school. All Middle and High School students were relocated to Culver Elementary School. Parents were contacted and allowed to pick up the students at the Elementary School.
Officers searched the school building and no suspicious or explosive devices were discovered and officials say no evidence was found that supported the validity of these threats.
Any remaining students after the “all clear” was called returned back to the school building to finish out their school day.
School officials thanked the staff, community members and local law enforcement for swift actions. The staff ensured the safety of the students and moved them to the proper locations for dismissal.
The Culver Police Department responded to the scene and worked with the Culver Community School Resource Officer, as well as the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, Notre Dame Police Department and the Indiana State Police. The incident remains under investigation.
