Starke County under Warning Travel Advisory

Starke County is under a warning level travel advisory.

According to the Starke County Emergency Management Agency, due to extreme weather conditions north of U.S. 30, Starke County is transitioning to a red, warning level travel advisory.

A warning level travel advisory means that travel may be restricted to emergency management workers only. Residents should refrain from all travel, comply with necessary emergency measures, cooperate with public officials and disaster services forces in executing emergency operations plans, and obey and comply with lawful directions of properly identified officers.

The warning level will be revisited Saturday afternoon (January 20) by the Starke County Emergency Management Agency Director, Starke County Commissioners and the Starke County Highway Department.

Snow plow drivers are being pulled off the roadways Friday (January 19) at 3 p.m. CT and will be deployed again at 4 a.m. CT Saturday morning.
