Three to be Charged in Pulaski County Burglary Investigation

Three people are expected to be charged in a burglary investigation conducted by the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office.

It started Wednesday, December 27, 2023 when deputies responded to the Rising Sun Campground in Ora after theft and burglary complaints were filed. Police say an unknown person had broken into approximately 15 campers and stole a variety of valuables.

More calls regarding thefts came into the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office over the next several weeks, according to police. In early January, police say deputies received a tip about a possible suspect and the lead was investigated and corroborated.

Another call came in Wednesday, January 10 about a burglary at a building on County Road 200 E. where several items were reported stolen.

A search warrant was executed Sunday, January 14 at a residence which led to the recovery of a majority of the stolen property from both burglaries. Further information led Pulaski County deputies into Starke County to other residences of suspects.

Police say approximately $15,000-$20,000 in damages and stolen property were involved in this incident.

As a result, a male juvenile from Winamac was arrested and placed in a juvenile detention facility, Zerek Ford, 19, of North Judson was arrested and booked into the Pulaski County Jail on charges. Drew Zimmerman, 18, of North Judson will also be charged with involvement in this incident, according to police.
