Winamac Town Council Reorganizes, Makes Appointments

The Winamac Town Council members reorganized during their meeting Monday night.

Larry Weaver was retained as council president and Alvin Parish was retained as vice president. Department heads were also retained that include Town Manager Brad Zellers, Electric Department Superintendent Doug Shorter, Water/Street Department Superintendent Jeremy Beckner, Wastewater Department Superintendent Jake Buckman, Police Chief Tyler Campbell, and Park Manager Aaron Spanley.

Nathan Swartzell and Kyle Kruzick were appointed as citizen members of the Board of Zoning Appeals; Town Manager Brad Zellers was reappointed to the Winamac Park Board; Tom Murray was reappointed to the Airport Board, Galbreath Family Charities, and the Alcoholic Beverage Commission Board; Alvin Parish was retained as the town’s K-IRPC representative and to the Northwest Indiana Solid Waste District.

Justin Schramm was retained as the town’s legal counsel.

The meetings will remain on the second Monday of the month at 6 p.m. ET at the Winamac Municipal Utilities Complex.
