The Pulaski County Election Board held a public test of voting machines Wednesday morning at the Pulaski County Highway Garage.
The board members conducted the public test to ensure election equipment is properly programmed and functioning ahead of the election.
A percentage of voting machines from the county’s inventory is tested during the public test. The voting machines to be tested are chosen by VSTOP (Voting System Technical Oversight Program) officials and are randomly selected. Four voting machines were randomly selected for testing Wednesday morning.
The machines were tested to ensure that all is working properly, and then the machines were then reset to zero and sealed and stored for the election. Several machines will be ready for early voting when it begins Tuesday, April 9 at the Pulaski County Highway Garage.
