Culver-Union Township EMS Director Presents Requests

Newly-installed Culver-Union Township EMS Director Michael Hasselfeldt requested a promotion of Wes Coulter to captain.

Town Manager Kevin Danti explained that Coulter would be a technical support captain and ambulance captain. He has worked with the Culver-Union Township EMS Department for about three years. The council approved the request.

Hasselfeldt also asked to hire two full-time paramedic positions with the department which was approved by the council.

In other news, Culver-Union Township Fire Chief Terry Wakefield told the council that the fire department will be needing a new tanker truck very soon. He mentioned at the last meeting in April that tanker trucks are priced at around $800,000.

Also, there is a delay in the installation of Pier C at Lake Maxinkuckee. Danti said Park Superintendent Amber Cowell reported that the section is featuring new sockets to create better safety and stability. Due to the delay, the town will be issuing refunds for slip owners on Pier C per diem per day beginning Friday, May 10 based upon the rental agreement.
