Co-Authors Jillinda Stella and Pam Brettnacher presented their book to members of the Starke County Youth Club Thursday, June 20.
The book, Making Friends at Puddle Pond, involves the challenges of the main characters, Fritz the Frog and Birdie the Bee, in making friends.
They also explained to the students at the North Judson-San Pierre and Knox sites how the process goes into making a book and creating illustrations as well as how they came up with the ideas of the characters in the book. They read the book aloud to the students.
Each student got an autographed copy of the book.
Stella and Brettnacher, both kindergarten educators from Carmel, Indiana, both had the dream of writing a children’s book and collaborated together to make that dream a reality through their venture Puddle Pond Creations. Brettnacher previously worked in graphic design and provided the illustrations in the book.
Another book in the series will be released this summer where Fritz the Frog will be up to more adventures and other books are in the development process.
Both Stella and Brettnacher commented that they were impressed with the Starke County Youth Club and what the organization does for the students that participate.
