Arrest Made in Home Invasion Investigation in Hamlet

An arrest has been made in a home invasion investigation in Hamlet.

According to the Hamlet Police Department, the home invasion occurred in the early morning hours Saturday, August 3 in the 600 block of Starke Street in Hamlet. Two residents were transported to the hospital for injuries sustained in the incident.

As the investigation unfolded, officers from the Hamlet Police Department, Plymouth Police Department, and the Starke County Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant at the Red Rock Inn in Plymouth Monday, August 5 at 6:30 p.m. ET in connection with this case. Upon arriving, officers identified a man and detained him in connection with the crime.

As a result, 40-year-old David Campbell, of Plymouth, was taken into custody and incarcerated at the Starke County Jail. Campbell is currently being held pending formal charges being filed by the Starke County Prosecutor’s Office.

At this time, officers from the Hamlet Police Department and detectives with the Starke County Sheriff’s Department are continuing to investigate this incident.

Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
