Knox Community School Corporation Director of Curriculum and Instruction Peggy Shidaker gave an update on ILEARN scores to the school board at their meeting Monday, August 5.
Superintendent Greg Mikulich said the students in grades 3-8 showed about 30 percent passing in both English/Language Arts and Math.
Mikulich commented, “A lot of schools do this – when they hit their Middle School age the scores tend to dip a little bit and then they try to recover in High School. We’re working on ways – putting in some interventions and stuff like that so we can stop that dip so our students can continue to, I guess, get better scores in their Middle School years.”
The state numbers showed about 30 percent passing in both English/Language Arts and Math for students in the state.
