Yellowstone Trail Fest Begins Tomorrow!

The Yellowstone Trail Fest begins tomorrow (Saturday, August 17) for a two-day event at the Starke County 4-H Fairgrounds in Hamlet.

This year’s Harry Potter Mischief and Magic-themed event will feature all-day events such as Hogwarts Express rides, a wizards escape room, photo opportunities with characters and an eight-foot dragon, the rendezvous, ax throwing practice, vendors, and a food court.

Saturday’s events include a car show/swap and music at 9 a.m. CT, wand making from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. CT at the Lions Pavilion, a slug eating contest at 10:30 a.m. and at 6 p.m., a youth gnome toss at 1 p.m. and a teen gnome toss at 1:30 p.m., a women’s skillet toss at 2 p.m., a men’s hammer toss at 2:30 p.m., a town-wide scavenger hunt at 3 p.m. with details at the information trailer, the antique tractor pull at 3 p.m., snakes and scabbers at 3 p.m., a pine car derby at 4 p.m., Hoots and Howls rescue at 7 p.m. CT, and fireworks at dusk.

Sunday’s activities include a christian illusionist at 10 a.m. CT, Hoots and Howls Rescue at 11 a.m., RC Drag Racing on the track at noon, Marks Ark Strange Petting Zoo from noon to 3 p.m., a slug eating contest at noon and at 2:30 p.m., the parade leaves the firehouse at 1 p.m. and will arrive at Midway at 1:30 p.m,, and the vendors will close at 4 p.m. CT.
