The Pulaski County Election Board and the Starke County Election Board members held separate meetings Friday, November 15 to review provisional ballots and any outstanding absentee ballots to either be rejected or accepted to be included in the ballot count for Election Day.
Most of the issues with the absentee ballots dealt with a lack of signature on the ballot or the signature did not match on the ballot. Cure letters were returned that were reviewed by the board members in both counties.
Pulaski County Election Board members looked at six provisional ballots that were submitted on Election Day and they were all rejected as the voters were not registered in Pulaski County.
Four cure letters were received in mail-in absentee ballots and they were all accepted.
The counted ballots did not change any outcomes of any races.
Additionally, five Pulaski County candidates have not yet turned in campaign finance reports. They were due October 18 at noon ET. There is a $50/day fine up to $1,000. Those candidates were defeated in the Primary Election but still had to file a final report. Those candidates will be sent a certified letter and hearings may be scheduled to determine total fines. They will need to respond by Friday, November 22.
In Starke County, there were 10 absentee ballots that were approved and counted. There there three provisional ballots on Election Day that were counted. The counted ballots did not change any outcomes of any races.
The final certified Election Summary Reports will be posted on Election Central section on this website once they are received.
