A sentencing hearing has been scheduled for Rodney Craft who was convicted of charges of dealing in methamphetamine as a Level 2 Felony and possession of methamphetamine as a Level 4 Felony.
A 12-member jury found Craft guilty on those charges following testimony in a trial that lasted one day in Starke Circuit Court Wednesday, November 13. A confidential informant testified that he got methamphetamine from Craft from Craft’s home in the North Judson area on February 8, 2024. The informant agreed to work with detectives with the Starke County Sheriff’s Office to set up the buy and he was able to identify Craft as the person from whom he got the methamphetamine.
Craft was not present at the time of the jury trial so a sentencing hearing was not scheduled at the time the verdict was rendered. A warrant was issued for his arrest and he was taken into custody a week later at his home. Craft faces charges of resisting law enforcement and interfering with a law enforcement animal in that incident.
Craft’s sentencing date was set during a hearing held in court last week. The sentencing hearing is set for Friday, January 31 at 10 a.m. CT in Starke Circuit Court.
