The North Judson Town Council members approved a bid for an upcoming Community Crossings Matching Grant project.
The project included paving projects on W. Weninger Street from S. Garfield Ave. to George Street, E. State St. from George St. to Schricker Ave., N. Garfield Ave. from Cherry St. to W. Vine St., W. Vine Street from Sheridan Ave. to Keller Ave., Arlington Ave. from Railroad St. to Pleasant St., and Main St. from Talmer Ave. to Lane St.
The town also plans to replace the sidewalk on Main St. from Lane St. to Keller Ave.
Mitch Hansel with USI Consultants said the bids came in a little high and he worked with the lowest bidder, Town and Country Paving, to come up with a change order of less $75,000 so it would bring the bid more in line of what the town was awarded in state grant funding plus the town’s match. He said it will likely still be $3,000 over what was grant funded, but he thinks it will work.
With that change, Hansel asked the town council members to approve the bid from Town and Country Paving in the amount of $424,751.85. The bid was approved with a unanimous vote.
