Winamac Town Council Approves Four-Way Stop at Two Intersections

The Winamac Town Council members took action Monday, April 14 to unanimously approve an ordinance that would create a four-way stop at two intersections in town.

The two intersections are at Agnew and 16th Street and at Franklin and Narrow Streets.

The ordinance needs to be published before it can be enforced. Drivers are encouraged to watch for the change in traffic pattern at those intersections.

The town council also unanimously approved an Arbor Day Proclamation. The Town of Winamac is a Tree City U.S.A. participant and the council members recognize the importance of trees by their effort in reducing erosion, cutting heating and cooling costs, moderating temperature, cleaning the air, providing habitat for wildlife, and being a resource for providing paper, and wood for homes. Trees also increase property values, beautify the community, and provide a source of joy. Arbor Day is recognized this year on April 25, 2025.

Additionally, signs will be available at the cemeteries in town with QR codes which link visitors to the town’s website where they can access records, cemetery rules and other information associated with burial request forms and a fee schedule.
