According to an announcement from the Starke County Highway Department, due to the extremely hot weather, some roadways will have defects in the asphalt materials.
The Highway Department advises motorists to stay aware of this during their daily travels, noting that on Monday they needed to put aggregates as preventative measures on Toto Road between State Road 23 and 1150 East.
In areas where the aggregate is needed, loose gravel signs will be posted as a safety precaution.
