On the heels of the announcement that he is stepping down as fire chief of the North Judson-Wayne Township Fire Department, Todd Jackson is also resigning as building inspector for the Town of North Judson.

Town Manager Joe Leszek made the announcement to the town council members during their meeting Monday, July 7.

Anyone interested in filling the position may contact the staff at the North Judson Town Hall at 574-896-3340 for more information. Jackson will be in the position until a new person is found to fill the vacancy.

Nathan Henning announced to the council that with Jackson stepping down as fire chief, a meeting was held to reorganize where Henning was voted in as fire chief, with Kevin Brown taking over as assistant chief. Henning also reported that Kathleen Durkin was voted in as a full-time firefighter after completing state certifications. He added that the department’s fire education house was present at the Starke County Fair. An effort will be made to bring items that are needed at the fire department in upcoming discussions.
