During Monday’s North Judson Town Council Meeting, one topic discussed was Council working with The Troyer Group in figuring out what aspects in the town’s preliminary plans for the second phase of the park improvement project may be able to transition to shovel ready projects when the grant cycle opens once again.
The town had put together a preliminary draft of projects to be submitted for a grant this year; however, the Department of Natural Resources recently announced that funding is not available for Land and Water Conservation Fund grants this year. The council members are eager to keep the momentum going in this venture and will look at alternatives in the coming months.
The North Judson Mint Festival committee will be meeting Tuesday, July 29 at the North Judson Town Hall at 310 Lane Street to continue to review this year’s event and potential ideas for next year’s festival. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. CT.
Town Marshal Frank Thomas said several property owners in town have been issued ordinance violations for tall grass and/or vegetation. Residents are reminded that adjacent alleyways with tall grass and/or vegetation should be tended to as well. Marshal Thomas noted that the police department responded to a total of 424 calls in the month of June.
