There will be resources and surveys available to those in Starke County struggling with housing issues this upcoming Wednesday, August 6th.
Housing insecurity can cover many situations, including those sleeping outside, in a car, tent, garage, or storage unit; those staying somewhere considered uninhabitable; and those staying on someone’s couch or relying on others to pay for a hotel room.
Volunteers from the community would like to reach out and learn how to better help those with housing needs.
On August 6th, volunteers will be stationed at 3 sites in Starke County and will also be walking Starke County’s streets and alleys with surveys, free items, and resources.
Those who would like to reach out can find volunteers on Wednesday August 6th at Community Services of Starke County, located at 311 East Culver Road in Knox, from 8am – 4pm Central Time; at Wythogan Park Shelter number 2 from Noon – 7pm Central Time, and at the North Judson United Methodist Church from noon to 7pm central time. The Church is located at 210 Central Avenue in North Judson.
Those wanting to help with this event can reach out to 574-772-3665.
