Kankakee Valley REMC would like to remind customers about some tips for avoiding energy scams.
They state that if you receive an e-mail that appears to be from your electric utility but are unsure about it, delete it. Never click a link, open an attachment, or send a reply to an untrusted source.
When in doubt, contact your utility directly to report suspected e-mail scams.
