According to an announcement from Starke County Community Services, they are in need of a couple volunteers.
The first volunteer position is in the food pantry on Thursdays from 10am until 2pm. This does require some lifting – mainly 24 pack of cans, but sometimes heavier cases. Shopping and weighing groceries for pickups, stocking shelves. This position is described as a light version of working in a grocery store.
The second position needed to fill is on Friday afternoons. The hours are 12-4pm Central Time. This volunteer will answer the phones at the main desk. It may require a little paperwork such as stapling together papers for the agency. But little to no physical labor. You would be answering and directing calls primarily.
Bothe positions require a background check. Applications can be picked up at Starke County Community Services, located at 311 East Culver Road in Knox.
