A press release shared by the Starke County Sheriff’s Office states that on Monday, June 8th, 2026, Christopher Fields of North Judson was taken into custody by officers with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department and the Plymouth Police Department.
Fields was located in the Plymouth area by a Marshall County detective while riding a bicycle and was subsequently apprehended without incident.
Fields, 52, of North Judson, was wanted on outstanding warrants issued by Starke County for Burglary Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury (Level 2 Felony), Burglary (Level 4 Felony), Battery by Means of a Deadly Weapon (Level 5 Felony), Battery Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury (Level 5 Felony), and Theft (Class A Misdemeanor).
The warrants stem from an incident that occurred on April 23, 2026, in the 500 block of West Ellis Street in Knox. According to investigators, Fields unlawfully entered a residence and allegedly assaulted the occupant, resulting in serious bodily injuries.
The investigation was conducted by the newly established Starke County MCU75. MCU75 is a multi-agency investigative task force comprised of personnel from the Knox, Hamlet, and North Judson Police Departments, as well as the Starke County Sheriff’s Department.
All suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
