City of Knox announces “Slide the Hill” event

The City of Knox is inviting families to cool off before the start of the school year with its first-ever “Slide the Hill” event.

The event will take place on Sunday, August 2nd, from 12pm to 4pm Central Time at Wythogan Park.

Participants can slide down the park’s hill on inflatable tubes, with the city providing tubes for attendees or allowing participants to bring their own. Organizers say a smaller hill will also be available for younger children.

Tickets are $10 per person and are available for purchase at Knox City Hall. A limited number of tickets will also be available at the gate while supplies last.

The event will also feature vendors and is open to families and groups of friends looking for an end-of-summer activity before students return to school.

If the event is postponed because of rain, it will be held on Sunday, August 9th instead.
