Indiana State Police Enforcement Bureau Statistics for July 2026

A press release from the Indiana State Police goes over their statistics for the month of July 2026. The statistics are as follows:

Traffic Stops – 34,886
15,727 traffic citations
27,596 traffic warnings
324 drunk driving arrests
1,294 criminal arrests (traffic related)
913 criminal arrests (non-traffic related)
1,529 seatbelt citations
211 distracted driving citations

Crashes Investigated – 1,327
Personal injury crashes – 200
Fatal crashes – 6

Troopers often happen upon or are dispatched to assist with disabled vehicles. These calls include flat tires, mechanical issues, vehicles stuck or are out of fuel. During the month of July, Troopers assisted 2,629 motorists on Indiana roadways.

As part of Governor Braun’s public safety platform, the Indiana State Police stated that they will continue utilizing various methods in enforcing Indiana’s traffic laws with the primary goal of voluntary compliance with these laws.  These may include aviation assets, dedicated patrols, wolf pack patrols, motorcycle patrols, unmarked patrol vehicles and marked Mustangs.

The press release stated that the overall goal is to drive down the number of crashes, injuries and fatalities.

The Indiana State Police encourages community members to report suspicious and/or illegal activity on roadways to law enforcement by calling 911.
