Knox Community School Board to meet Monday

The Knox Community School Board will meet Monday, September 14th. The meeting will be held at 6pm Central Time and will take place at Knox Community School Corporation’s Administrative office.

Following adoption of the agenda and approval of minutes from the August 17th meeting, the board will hold a Champion Moment featuring the dedication of the Lil Redskin Booster pavilion to Mrs. Meda Sullivan. The maintenance director will provide an update, followed by reports from the building principals and an opportunity for public comments on agenda items.

The board will then consider a personnel report that includes two transfers, one resignation, five new hires and one retirement.

Under business, the board will receive the treasurer’s report and vendor usage report before considering claims. The superintendent will also provide an update on the middle school computer project.

The board will consider a $400 donation from the Hamlet Fire Department for the FFA/ECA account and a $50 donation from DCS to be used for delinquent lunch fees. The board will also consider standard operating procedures for the Knox Community School Corporation Police Department.

A public hearing will then be held on the corporation’s proposed 2027 budgets for all funds, Capital Projects Fund Plan and Bus Replacement Fund Plan. The agenda states the board is scheduled to consider the proposed budgets and levies for adoption at its October 12th meeting.

The board will then consider a memorandum of understanding with Indiana University and the hiring of a design criteria developer from L4M Architecture for the automotive center at Knox Community School Corporation. The board will also consider adding an additional special needs paraprofessional at the elementary and middle schools, followed by discussion on an affidavit for payment.

There will then be a section of the meeting set aside for public comments on items that are not on the agenda, followed by comments or questions from administrators and the board and the adjournment of the meeting.
