The City of Knox has reopened its government buildings, but reopening certain park facilities will take a bit longer. Clerk-Treasurer Cyndi Mann-Kidder told the city council Tuesday that city hall is now open to the public. “There are sanitation stations in place at both entries, indoors and outdoors,” she explained. City council meetings are expected to move back to city hall starting in June.

Two South Bend residents face drug- and gun-related charges following a LaPorte County traffic stop. A LaPorte County sheriff’s deputy says he was driving westbound on U.S. 20 near Range Road just after 6:30 Wednesday, when he saw a Ford passenger vehicle brake suddenly and pull onto the shoulder without signaling. The deputy reportedly tried to run a computer check on the license plate, but discovered that the registration was false.

LaPorte County sheriff’s deputies say they were called to the 7800 block of West State Road 2 at about 3:15 Thursday morning, after getting a report of an unresponsive man lying along the roadway. When police arrived, they reportedly found a crash scene nearby.
