Oregon-Davis Elementary School is taking a coordinated approach to its reading curriculum. In a report to the school board last month, Teacher Elizabeth Megyese said that before the school began using the Into Reading program this year, it was pretty much up to individual teachers to set their reading curriculum. Now, she says the school will have some consistency throughout the grade levels, but will also have a curriculum that develops “analytical readers and independent thinkers.”
