First Wave of Free Concerts Announced for Indiana State Fair

If your summer plans include a trip to the Indiana State Fair, you may want to schedule it around the free nightly concerts. Fair officials have announced the first five of 17 shows that will be part of the Chevrolet Silverado Free Stage headline entertainment during the fair, which runs Aug. 4-20, 2017. Knox Officials Dedicate Veterans Parkway

A road at the south end of the Knox City Limits has a new name. Last summer the city used Community Crossings grant money to connect 150 South between Roosevelt Road and South Heaton Street. During a dedication ceremony yesterday, Mayor Dennis Estok told the crowd of veterans, family members and city officials the former county road needed a new name. Continue reading

Sponsors Sought for Additional Wythogan Park Band Stage Events

Knox officials are set to cut the ribbon for the city’s newest amenity today and are hoping it will get lots of use throughout the summer.

The performance stage in Wythogan Park will be dedicated at 2:30 p.m. The brief program will be followed by a free concert in the park sponsored by the city. Jim Pulse will start the entertainment at 3 p.m. and will play until 5 or 5:30. After that Half Track will take the stage and play until whenever. The performances coincide with the car show in the park, which will be followed by a cruise night. Continue reading

North Judson Council Discusses Compliance Officer Position

The North Judson Town Council is finalizing a job description for a compliance officer. The part-time employee will work under the supervision of the town marshal and will issue warnings and citations for tall grass and other code violations. Continue reading
