Arlos L Kroft Epler, age 95, a long time Francesville resident, passed away at her granddaughter’s home in Lakeville, 7:00 AM Sunday, March 10, 2019. She was born in Medaryville, July 23, 1923 daughter of the late George and Grace Tetzloff Kroft. She married Frank R. Epler on July 4, 1958 and he preceded her in death.
Arlos graduated from Medaryville High School and was a homemaker. She had been a life member of St. John’s UCC . She enjoyed cooking and baking, cookies and pies were her specialty. She also enjoyed playing euchre.

Kenneth L. Kemble
Kenneth L. Kemble was born December 16, 1943 in Knox, Indiana to Harry and Amanda Kemble. Ken was the youngest of four siblings: Gene, Marlene (Griffith) and Bob.
Ken’s heart was captured by his high school sweetheart Eileen Hasnerl. She would become his best friend and wife for 55 incredible years. Ken and Eileen had two children, Kurt and Kelly (Manning). They were his pride and joy, and blessed him with five grandchildren, who endearingly called him Papa. Kurt and his wife Shelly have two children, Taylor and Hunter. Kelly and her husband, Anthony Manning, have three sons: Kemble, Harrison and Gabriel.

Doris Emma Becker, 90, of Rensselaer, IN passed away at 5:45 AM Friday, March 1, 2019 at the Rensselaer Care Center in Rensselaer. She was born on March 16, 1928 in Medaryville, IN to the late George J. and Grace A. Tetzloff Kroft. On June 7, 1947, Doris married Robert H. Becker. He passed away on November 17, 1978. She was a former Deputy Auditor for the Jasper County Auditor’s Office and was a volunteer at the Jasper County Hospital gift shop.

Dr. Roger C. Verhagen
Roger C. Verhagen, 93, died Thursday, February 7, 2019 at his home. He was born May 6, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Christian M. and Marie (Natelborg) Verhagen.
Roger served in the Army Air Corps in WWII. He then graduated from Northern Illinois College of Optometry. He practiced Optometry in Knox and North Judson from 1950 to 1996.
Roger enjoyed singing, golfing & playing tennis (in his younger years), long car rides, philosophical talks and most of all spending time with his beloved family. Continue reading
