Pulaski County Commissioners: Mike McClure, Jerry Locke, Kenny Becker

The Pulaski County Commissioners will get an update on some maintenance activities from Maintenance Director Mia Salyers tonight. County officials have recently been discussing hiring an outside contractor to help with HVAC maintenance, after issues were noted at multiple county facilities. The commissioners have also agreed to hire a company to repair a leaky roof in the circuit courtroom.

Indiana Distributing PPE for Poll Workers, Preparing for Large Number of Mail-In Ballots

Indiana’s primary election is coming up on June 2, and the state continues working to safely hold an election during a global pandemic. During state officials’ COVID-19 press conference Friday, Secretary of State Connie Lawson said her office has used federal CARES Act money to get personal protective equipment for poll workers and election staff in all 92 counties.

Stimulus Checks May Not Be Seized by Creditors under Indiana Supreme Court Order

Hoosiers’ stimulus payments may not be seized by creditors for past-due bills, under an order from the Indiana Supreme Court Monday. During state officials’ COVID-19 press conference Tuesday, Cynthia Carrasco, deputy general counsel for the governor, explained that Indiana Legal Services and other groups had petitioned the court to protect stimulus checks.
