Kingsbury Man Charged in Connection with Crash that Killed Grovertown Woman

A Kingsbury man has been charged in connection with a July, 2020 crash that left a Grovertown woman dead. Taren E. Abair, 29, was killed in a crash on U.S. 6 in rural LaPorte County, according to LaPorte County sheriff’s deputies.

Michigan City Woman Arrested after Pursuit on U.S. 20

A Michigan City woman was arrested Monday, after allegedly leading police on a pursuit on U.S. 20. It reportedly began around 8:40 p.m. near U.S. 20 and Fail Road.

Wanted Man Arrested after Allegedly Leading Police on Chase, Providing False Name

A LaPorte County police chase reportedly ended with officers using a “chemical agent” to get the driver out of his pickup truck. Sheriff’s deputies say it began just before 1:30 Wednesday morning, when a woman reported that a white pickup truck was trying to force her vehicle off the roadway on I-94.

A complaint of shots fired reportedly led to the arrest of a Goshen man in LaPorte County. Sheriff’s deputies say they were called to the area of U.S. 20 and County Road 350 East just before 11:30 Tuesday morning.

Dollahan Sentenced in Starke Circuit Court

Jan Dollahan Jr. was sentenced Thursday in Starke Circuit Court. Back in April, a jury found him guilty of criminal recklessness and invasion of privacy, after neighbors said he shot multiple rounds at their property, in an incident in May of 2016. Judge Kim Hall accepted those verdicts Thursday, according to court officials.

Dollahan Sentencing Rescheduled for August, to Accommodate Attorney Switch

Jan Dollahan Jr.’s sentencing hearing has once again been pushed back, as Dollahan switches defense attorneys. Back in April, a jury found Dollahan guilty of criminal recklessness and invasion of Privacy. Neighbors said he shot multiple rounds at their property, in an incident in May of 2016.

Jan Dollahan Jr. has been found guilty of Criminal Recklessness and Invasion of Privacy, after neighbors say he shot multiple rounds at their property, in an incident in May of 2016. Starke County Prosecutor Nick Bourff says a jury took less than an hour to return the guilty verdicts in Starke Circuit Court Wednesday.
