Residents have until the close of business that day to register at their county clerk’s office, or until midnight to register online at IndianaVoters.com. The Pulaski County Election Board has set early voting hours, ahead of November’s General Election. The early voting period runs from October 10 through November 5. During that time, in-person absentee voting will take place Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. EDT at the Pulaski County Justice Center in Winamac.

A poll worker’s needlepoint hobby led to a lengthy debate among Starke County Election Board members Wednesday. Board President Harrison Fields said he’s gotten complaints about a poll worker who’s apparently been doing needlepoint while waiting for potential voters, during in-person absentee voting hours. “I’ve had two phone calls on it, and me personally, I don’t like the looks of it, personally,” he said. “I don’t like the looks of it.”

A policy related to early voting has been formalized by the Pulaski County Election Board. “The state has changed some laws, and they required us to provide them with our policy of how to assign a specific ID number to the early voting, the in-person absentee voting ballots,” explains election board member Laura Bailey.
Applications Now Being Accepted for Mail-In Ballots, Ahead of May Primary
Those who want to vote in the May 8 primary but won’t be able to make it to the polls on Election Day have a few options. The Starke County Clerk’s Office is now accepting applications for mail-in ballots. They’ll be sent out to qualified voters starting the week of March 24, according to county election officials.
