Pulaski Commissioners to Discuss ‘Second Amendment Sanctuary’ Ordinance Tonight

Pulaski County Commissioners: Mike McClure, Jerry Locke, Kenny Becker

A “Second Amendment sanctuary” ordinance will be up for discussion at tonight’s Pulaski County Commissioners meeting. It would presumably allow officials not to enforce certain laws that may restrict the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

The measure has been requested by a group of residents, who are concerned about proposed legislation in Indiana and activities in other states. They plan to have someone present more information tonight.

In other business, the Pulaski County Election Board is expected to ask the commissioners for permission to continue using the Justice Center for early voting and also to keep using DeGroot Technology as its Election Day IT contractor. Coroner Jon Frain will present updated job descriptions and other handbook-related items for the commissioners’ approval.

Four County Counseling Center CEO Dr. Carrie Cadwell will review the organization’s services in 2019. EMS Director Brandon DeLorenzo and Sheriff Jeff Richwine will have updates.

Tonight’s Pulaski County Commissioners meeting starts at 6:00 EST in the Pulaski County Highway Garage.
