Four people were hurt Monday afternoon in a crash at U.S. 421 and Pulaski County Road 200 South. A Hyundai Elantra was reportedly heading west on 200 South, when it pulled into the path of a Ford Econoline E350 that was heading south. The driver of the Hyundai, Samuel D. Jones, 29, of Mapleton, Illinois, reportedly told police that he didn’t realize the intersection wasn’t a four-way stop.

A Winamac man is dead, following a crash on U.S. 421 near Francesville Tuesday afternoon. The Pulaski County Coroner’s Office says it happened near County Road 600 South. Ronald Mark Vititoe, 72, was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:20 p.m. by Coroner John Behny.

Fatal Francesville Fire Under Investigation
An early morning fire in Francesville has claimed a life. The Francesville Volunteer Fire Department responded to a home at 203 Yellow Street just before 2 a.m. Thursday. The home was in flames when they arrived. One person was able to escape, but a second occupant could not get out of the house in time, according to the incident report. Continue reading
Pulaski County Student Receives Indiana Homeland Security Foundation Scholarship
A student from Pulaski County is one of 15 from around the state receiving college scholarships from the Indiana Homeland Security Foundation for their college education. Cameron Owens has been an active member of the Francesville Volunteer Fire Department since July of 2013 and completed their cadet program. Owens received a $2,000 scholarship toward his education at Ball State University. Continue reading
