North Judson officials say they’re already seeing the benefits of the town’s new grocery store. Grand Central Grocery at Lane and Adair streets held its grand opening and ribbon cutting on Friday. Town officials and residents shared their excitement during Monday’s town council meeting.

North Judson’s Clerk-Treasurer is looking to get a focal point in town back in working order. Clerk-Treasurer Andrew Rowe told council members and meeting attendees on Monday that he wants to fix the tall clock that stands in front of Grand Central Station on Lane Street.
Rowe said, “It’s a neat thing to have in our downtown and I think it’s wasted there; A: not working and B: not being lit up in the evenings.” Continue reading
Fundraiser Scheduled for Those Affected by Tornadoes
Twelve days after a devastating tornado hit Salyersville, Kentucky, construction crews are rebuilding roofs and stabilizing structures. County Judge Charles Hardin said the tornado destroyed more than 190 houses and about 80 buildings in the community with 1,900 residents.
Debbie Mix, the Executive Director-Coordinator of the Starke County Chamber of Commerce-Tourism Commission has announced that a Gospel Music Jam will be held on Saturday, March 24th at 3:00 p.m. at Grand Central Station in North Judson. This will be a fundraiser for the Tornado victims of Magoffin County, Kentucky. The event will feature local music groups and singers. If you plan on attending, bring a covered dish, if possible.
North Judson-San Pierre Madrigal Singers Visit the WKVI Studios!
The North Judson-San Pierre Madrigal Singers visited the WKVI studios to give us a sample of what can be heard during the annual Madrigal dinner. The Madrigal Dinners will be presented on Friday, December 2nd and Saturday, December 3rd at 6:00 p.m. CT, and Sunday, December, 4th at 1:00 p.m. CT at the Grand Central Station in North Judson.
Tickets MUST be purchased in advance. Tickets purchased prior to, or on November 28th, are $18 for adults. Tickets purchased after November 28th are $20 for adults. Children aged kindergarten through 12 years old are $10. Preschool aged children are free.
Two North Judson Teens Arrested on Burglary, Theft Charges
Two people have been arrested in connection with burglaries at two downtown businesses in North Judson.
North Judson Town Marshal Doug Vessely said that 16 cases of beer and several bottles of liquor were taken from Grand Central Station and a set of Wilson golf clubs and a bag were taken from Rosa’s Resale Shop. After an investigation, officers recovered the stolen property from a residence in the 300 block of Main Street.
North Judson-San Pierre Madrigal Dinner Tonight
The North Judson-San Pierre Madrigal Dinner and musical performance will be tonight at Grand Central Station in North Judson at 7:00 p.m. CT.
Under the direction of Donna Ness, the singers will be performing two other times, 7:00 p.m. Saturday and 1:00 p.m. Sunday. This is the 20th year for the performances.
Madrigal Dinner Tickets Available
The North Judson-San Pierre High School Choral Department has tickets available for this year’s Madrigal dinner on Friday and Saturday, December 3rd and 4th, at 7:00 p.m. CT and Sunday, December 5th, at 1:00 p.m. CT. All performances will take place at the Grand Central Station restaurant in North Judson.
