Pulaski County Election Board to Research E-Poll Book Purchase
The Pulaski County Election Board will be looking into the feasibility of purchasing e-poll books after meeting with the Pulaski County Commissioners Monday night.
Board member Jon Frain explained that the implementation of e-poll books is the next step in upgrading the election equipment. The county would purchase iPads with election software. Voting officials would be able to scan a voter’s Driver’s License into the computer, and that would create a digital signature page to move the process at a quicker pace.
Pulaski County Voters Elect Sheriff, Commissioner
In Pulaski County Republican Jeff Richwine is the sheriff-elect. He beat Democrat Paul Grandstaff in the contest to replace Mike Gayer, who is retiring due to term limits. Republican Bud Krohn Jr. beat Democrat John Plowman in the county commissioners race. He will replace incumbent Tracey Shorter, who did not seek reelection. Local Funeral Director Named to State Board
A local funeral director is a newly appointed member of the Indiana Funeral Education Foundation board of directors.
Jon Frain of Frain Mortuary in Winamac is a graduate of Indiana University in Bloomington and Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Chicago. The foundation supports continuing education, scholarship and other financial aid opportunities for funeral directors and other professional in the field. They also educate the general public on the value of the funeral and the role of the funeral director in society and make charitable contributions on behalf of the funeral service.
Polling Place Changes Proposed in Pulaski County
The Pulaski County Election Board members and the commissioners recently approved changes to polling places in Pulaski County.
The board members evaluated polling places for ADA compliance and changes were needed as some locations were deemed inaccessible.
