Fireworks Fundraiser Planned, Parade Forms Available at Mayor’s Office
Plans are shaping up for the Independence Day celebration in downtown Knox. A parade down Main Street into Wythogan Park on Saturday, July 2nd will kick off the day of events leading up to the county fireworks display. Mayor Dennis Estok and the Knox City Council have opted to move them from the airport to the park this year.

The City of Knox Fireworks will take place Saturday, July 2nd in Wythogan Park. Mayor Dennis Estok told the city council last night the display will cap off a day’s worth of activities that will get under way with a 1 p.m. parade through the downtown area. Knox Begins Truck Route Enforcement
Enforcement of truck routes through the city of Knox is now in effect. Mayor Dennis Estok says the goal is to get tractor-trailers off Culver Road as they travel between U.S. 35 and the Knox Industrial Park on Klockner Drive.
Estok told the city council last week tractor trailers pose safety concerns in the school zones. Trucks will not be allowed on Washington or Lake Streets, either. Truck route signs will be posted to alert drivers. Continue reading
