Knox Mayor Authorizes Purchase for TCS Expansion

Traffic Control Ssytems IncThe construction of a new facility for an expanding Knox business will remain on schedule after Knox Mayor Dennis Estok administratively authorized the purchase of a lift station to serve the site. City officials previously agreed to run water and sewer lines to the new Traffic Control Specialists, Inc. location west of Toll Brothers and Knox Fertilizer in the industrial park. Parkview Heights Rehabilitation on Mayor’s Radar

Knox Mayor Dennis Estok wants to revive a once proud Knox neighborhood. Parkview Heights was built in 1941 by the Federal Works Agency Division of Defense as worker housing for employees of the Kingsbury Ordinance Plant. During World War II the LaPorte County site was one of the largest shell-loading plants in the nation. Continue reading

Fireworks to Return to Wythogan Park

 
 

Knox Mayor Dennis Estok is bringing the city’s July 4th fireworks display back to Wythogan Park. They’ve taken place at the Starke County Airport northwest of Knox for the past several years. Estok wants to bring them back downtown to ensure youngsters are able to attend. His plans call for a parade to kick off the celebration. Continue reading

Knox Council to Reorganize, Consider Utility Rate Increases

They will consider ordinances to raise water and sewer rates on second reading. They’re based on a rate study conducted for the city by accounting firm Umbaugh and Associates. It took into account infrastructure needs for maintaining both services at appropriate levels. Continue reading
